Ian Donald
Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound
The Ian Donald Inter-University School of medical ultrasound is designed to address the needs of clinicians with interest in diagnostic ultrasound, who seek additional knowledge and practice in recent obstetric and gynecologic sonographic developments.
The first ID course was held in Dubrovnik in 1982, co-organized by Asim Kurjak and George Kossoff. After G. Kossoff retirement, Frank Chervenak was named co-director.
Since its foundation, the School has organized more than 52 advanced courses throughout the world and has been attended by more than 50 000 students and professionals from all over the world.
Professor Tommy Thompson, former President of The World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology, wrote: “The Ian Donald course was outstanding in that it presented the most up-to-date, state-of-the art information on ultrasound that is available today”.
